Beyond the money, Alibaba Cloud will help build Omarchy China: local CDN, hosting, website, meetups, and community so Chinese users can download Linux, install packages, and stay updated without the usual friction.
Concrete collaboration target: Qwen Book. Alibaba’s own description calls it a native AI agent computer under an “OS as Harness” idea—models, OS, apps, cloud, and hardware tied together. The first release is ARM-based, with a low-power Agent Engine and Continuous Context Engine, and Alibaba says it looks forward to exploring innovations with Omarchy OS.
According to the announcement, that means tuning Omarchy for Qwen models out of the box and working toward full integration with Chinese services people depend on—so agent-ready compute is not a separate project after install.
