Omarchy adds support for NVIDIA N1x laptops, with one aarch64 ISO for every ARM board
The ASUS ProArt P14 and Dell XPS 16 on NVIDIA’s N1x are getting Omarchy support, along with one ARM installer that covers Snapdragon, GB10 and generic aarch64 machines too.

Omarchy is coming to NVIDIA’s ARM laptops. Ryan Hughes merged “Support the NVIDIA N1x laptops” on October 15, 2026, after a five-day sprint of 51 commits with contributions from @spencerbull, @birkskyum, @jdvmi00 and others. It isn’t in a release yet, so N1x support is coming in the next version.
The PR targets two machines: the ASUS ProArt P14 (H7407BA) and the Dell XPS 16 (DX16263). According to the description, both are ACPI-only aarch64 laptops pairing a MediaTek MT8901 CPU complex with an NVIDIA GB20B GPU, and Omarchy runs them on linux-omarchy with NVIDIA’s open driver. A separate PR from @emirb, merged on October 13, renamed the N1x kernel package from linux-omarchy-n1x to plain linux-omarchy, the same name as the x86_64 kernel.
The bring-up covers a lot of ground. The PR wires up early display on the NVIDIA GPU, swap on zram, USB4/Thunderbolt docks (tested with a CalDigit TS4, whose Ethernet now shows up after authorization), SoundWire audio based on NVIDIA’s UCM profiles, and a libinput quirk so the ProArt’s PixArt touchpad registers touches. The ProArt also gets tuned speakers, and the PR’s test plan was run on one.
N1x isn’t the only ARM platform in the merge. A new omarchy-hw-platform check tells N1x, NVIDIA GB10 and Qualcomm machines apart, and each gets its own package set. The PR folds in the GB10 work for the NVIDIA DGX Spark and ASUS Ascent GX10, and restores Snapdragon X support for machines like the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, while keeping Surface fixes away from Snapdragon Surfaces such as the Surface Pro 11.
Installed aarch64 systems pull packages from Omarchy’s edge aarch64 repository on pkgs.omarchy.org, ahead of Arch Linux ARM.
The installer side landed the same day. omarchy-iso PR #251 (66 commits) builds a single aarch64 ISO for every board that installs from a USB stick: the N1x laptops, Snapdragon laptops, NVIDIA GB10 desktops and plain aarch64 machines. “The board is decided at install time, as on x86_64,” the PR says. Apple Silicon Macs are left out, “since they are installed from macOS.” No public download link has been posted yet.
It’s early hardware, and the commits are upfront about the rough edges:
- The Dell XPS 16’s embedded controller doesn’t send any events yet.
- The Dell loses its headset microphone, because NVIDIA doesn’t declare it on that board.
obs-studioandyay-debugare missing from the aarch64 images, since edge doesn’t publish them yet.- The Snapdragon DSP has only been tested on one laptop.
- USB4 devices on a dock may need a replug.
Still, NVIDIA laptops, Snapdragon machines and GB10 desktops all landing in one merge, with one installer for all of them, is a big step for Omarchy on ARM. If you have a ProArt P14 or an XPS 16 on N1x, keep an eye out for the next version.
