Omarchy Magnifier brings a low-vision screen magnifier to Omarchy
A new community plugin adds key, scroll and pinch zoom, colour inversion and multi-monitor smarts for people who need a bigger screen.

Accessibility just got a dedicated plugin. Omarchy Magnifier, published by JPDoesDev, is a screen magnifier for Omarchy that its README says is “built for low vision”. The repository was created on October 11, 2026 and is MIT-licensed.
You can zoom with the scroll wheel, with keys or with a touchpad pinch, always inside limits you set. By default the range runs from 1x to 10x, which according to the README is Hyprland’s own ceiling. A small popup beside the pointer shows the current zoom level, and it follows the active Omarchy theme unless you give it your own colours.
There is also colour inversion, and a set of features for multi-monitor desks. Each monitor keeps its own pointer position and zoom level, and the monitor you leave “stays exactly as you saw it”, still magnified and still updating. A mouse lock stops the pointer from drifting from one screen to the other, so you move between them with a deliberate jump instead. The lock is on by default when two or more monitors are connected.
The default shortcuts:
Ctrl + Alt + ScrollorCtrl + Alt + =/-: zoom in and outCtrl + Alt + Z: 300% presetCtrl + Alt + X: zoom offCtrl + Alt + I: colour inversionSuper + Pinch: pinch zoom on the touchpadSuper + Ctrl + Scroll: jump between monitorsSuper + Ctrl + M: toggle the mouse lock
Zoom, per-monitor memory and frozen views survive a Hyprland reload, but the README notes they are gone after a reboot. It is also upfront about the cost: while any monitor is frozen, Hyprland keeps rendering full frames, which uses more GPU and battery.
You need Omarchy 4 with the Lua Hyprland config (Omarchy 3 is not supported) and Hyprland 0.56 or newer. There are no external dependencies and no sudo. Install it with omarchy plugin add https://github.com/JPDoesDev/omarchy-magnifier --enable, then run ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/jpdoesdev.magnifier/install.sh. Settings live in a Lua table in ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.lua.
The project is brand new, with no tagged release yet, but it already covers the basics a low-vision user needs to get around Omarchy every day.
