DHH says the Omarchy team is already working with Epic Games on the security requirements.

“Fortnite is coming to Linux!!” DHH posted on X on October 14, 2026. He added that the team is “already working with the folks at @EpicGames to ensure that @Omarchy is ready on day one with all the security requirements.”
He also joked about how it happened: “Amazing what’s possible when you nag @TimSweeneyEpic for years.”
DHH did not give a release date for Fortnite on Linux, and neither the post nor the Omarchy side says what the security requirements involve. Online multiplayer games often rely on anti-cheat systems, which have long been the main obstacle to running them on Linux.
There is already movement in the Omarchy repo. Pull request #15477, opened by a community contributor and still open at the time of writing, would replace the third-party Heroic launcher under Install > Gaming with the official Epic Games Launcher. The pull request says Epic has released a native Linux build of its launcher in Preview.
That change isn’t merged yet, so it’s not something you can install from the Omarchy menu today. We’ll follow up when Fortnite gets a date or Omarchy ships the Epic launcher.
