Omarchy Quattro Hits 200,000 ISO Downloads in 18 Days
Omarchy Quattro just crossed 200,000 ISO downloads in 18 days. Fresh pulls every few seconds, 215 countries, and 1Password’s Linux telemetry putting Omarchy at #1 on weekends.

David Heinemeier Hansson just put a clean number on the Quattro wave: 200,000 Omarchy Quattro ISO downloads in 18 days. That is not vibes. That is completed-download equivalents from Omarchy’s own servers, logged in today’s official post.
Do the math the way DHH does. On average, someone has pulled a fresh Omarchy every 8 seconds since Quattro shipped. At the peak hour, the project shipped 1,165 ISOs — one every 3 seconds. This is the follow-on to the earlier 100k-in-a-week milestone, and the curve has not cooled off.
Geography is doing the fun part. Downloads hit 215 countries and territories (more places than UN membership). Over half of those pulls sit outside the top five countries. On a per-capita basis, the Nordics lead: Iceland, Norway, and Denmark all pull Omarchy at more than twice the US rate. Absolute volume still skews American — the US accounts for 28% of downloads — but the map is global, not a single-scene echo chamber.
The adoption signal that cuts through hype is third-party. DHH cites 1Password Linux-distro telemetry: during the week, Omarchy is their #2 distro, ahead of Fedora. On weekends it is #1. When nobody is mandating the stack for work, people are installing Omarchy for fun. That fits the product story Omarchy has been telling since Quattro: a malleable Linux desktop people actually want to live in, not a demo they abandon on Monday.
Extrapolate at last week’s pace and DHH lands the millionth Quattro ISO on November 4. He flags the conservatism up front: this count is completed downloads from Omarchy’s servers, before you add people burning the same ISO twice. Conservative still looks aggressive.
Quattro itself remains v4.0.x on GitHub (latest filed release: v4.0.2). The story tonight is not a new tag. It is proof that the release people already have is landing at industrial cadence. Year of Linux on the Desktop is usually a meme. Two hundred thousand ISOs in eighteen days is an argument.
