On September 17, 2026, DHH posted that since DigitalOcean joined as a Founding Corporate Patron, the Omacom Foundation has welcomed a new Distinguished Patron, opened a mid-tier for growing companies, and watched open patronage double.

In the official news post, Brian Cartmell joins as a Distinguished Patron with a $100,000 contribution. DHH quotes him: your computer should answer to you, and he is backing Omarchy to keep the future open, hackable, and under the user’s control amid closed platforms and restricted AI models.

American Cloud joins with $25,088 for the year. Aron Wagner’s team wanted a rung between open patronage and the Distinguished Corporate tier, so the foundation created a 25K tier under All Patrons—$25,088 being a multiple of 256. American Cloud has also offered compute that Omarchy may use for redundancy.

Open patronage has doubled since the last count: more than $120,000 from 826 patrons, including an $8,192 pledge from Zeno wired directly when the donation form would not take his card. Ten days earlier it was roughly $60,000 from nearly 500 donors.

DHH frames the mix as individuals who want their computer to answer to them, companies growing on Linux, and hundreds chasing the same agentic Linux bet. Contact for founding and distinguished patronage is david@omarchy.org; open patronage goes through the public donate path on the site.

This is a fundraising milestone post—not a product release. Treat the dollar figures and patron counts as what DHH published on that date.
