The designer behind Solitude, Last Horizon and the plugin marketplace that became the official Omarchy catalogue is now on staff, with merch and apparel on his list.

The Omacom Foundation has a new full-time hire. In a post on omarchy.org dated October 27, 2026, DHH announced that HANCORE is leaving his seat in Omarchy AIR to become Head of Design and Community. He is the foundation’s fourth staff member, “alongside Krzysztof on Kernel, outfoxxed on Shell, and Emir on Infrastructure.”
According to the announcement, HANCORE was one of the first two artists invited into the AIR residency, and “it quickly became clear that what he’s doing for Omarchy is a full-time job.”
Plugins are a big part of that. When Quattro opened the floodgates, HANCORE started the marketplace that gave all those plugins a home, and it has since become the official Omarchy plugin catalogue, now with six thousand plugins. Keeping that ecosystem healthy, helping authors make their work great and making sure the best of it gets seen is a big part of the new role, the post says.
Then there is design. “Solitude and Last Horizon both ship with Omarchy, and another twenty of his themes are on the extras page. That’s more than anyone else has contributed,” DHH wrote, describing him as “a mechanical engineer who became one of the defining aesthetic forces in this community.” He now gets to bring that eye to everything Omarchy puts out, not just the palettes.
The community half of the title means supporting the theme makers, plugin authors and meetup organizers around the world with feedback and recognition. HANCORE also keeps his seat on Omarchy Core.
One more thing on his plate: merchandise and apparel. “Omarchy has a look, and it’s about time you could wear it,” the post says, followed by “More on that soon!”
His move frees up a seat in AIR, “which remains by invitation.” And DHH hinted this won’t be the last hire: “We’ve gathered such a great full-time staff already. And there are more hires to come,” he said on X on October 27, 2026, linking to the staff page.
On the website side, a pull request to add HANCORE to the Design team on the teams page is open but not merged yet. Welcome aboard, HANCORE!
