Namespace has joined the Omacom Foundation as a Distinguished Corporate Patron, DHH announced in an official Omarchy news post dated October 9, 2026. The company is contributing $100,000 a year in compute for three years.
According to the post, that compute is going straight into ARM builds and QA. Omarchy grew up on x86, which is where most users are today and where all of its testing was built, but DHH writes that “ARM is coming fast.”
He points to Omarchy M bringing Omarchy to Apple Silicon, Omarchy Dragon doing the same for Snapdragon laptops, Alibaba’s Qwen Book launching on ARM first, and a wave of other ARM laptops on the way. The goal is that every change works on ARM before it ships.
The catch, as the post explains, is that compiling isn’t enough: the installer has to be tested by actually installing and booting the system. Most rented ARM cloud machines won’t run a virtual machine, so the team was stuck emulating the processor in software, and booting the ARM ISO that way took over three minutes.
Namespace runs Linux on Apple Silicon, and on its runners the same ISO boots in four seconds, according to DHH. Namespace already runs builds for Zed, DuckDB and mise, which the foundation also sponsors.
Namespace joins 1Password, 37signals, Four Technologies, Fireworks, OpenAI, OpenRouter and OrcaRouter at the Distinguished Corporate Patron level. The post says the new pledge brings the foundation’s total backing to approximately $23.5 million.
DHH thanked Hugo and the Namespace team, as well as Emir, Omarchy’s new Head of Infrastructure, for making the connection. Companies interested in becoming patrons are invited to contact the foundation through the address listed in the announcement.
