The next Omarchy supports the Surface Pro 11 OLED: keyboard, pen, touch, cameras and sleep
Another ARM machine joins the club: the Snapdragon X Elite Surface Pro 11 with the OLED screen now gets a dedicated board setup, with its extra packages on the offline ISO.

Omarchy on ARM keeps growing. Pull request #14390, written by @turbineBMW and merged by @ryanrhughes on October 28, 2026, adds board support for Microsoft’s Surface Pro 11. It’s coming in the next version.
The support is narrow on purpose: it targets the OLED model with the Snapdragon X Elite chip, identified as microsoft,denali-oled. According to the pull request, the LCD and X Plus models are left alone until someone tests them.
The new setup script follows the pattern of the existing Yoga Slim 7x one. It loads the display, USB-C and keyboard modules plus the GPU firmware early in boot, so they’re ready before disk unlock. It also embeds the OLED model’s own device tree from linux-omarchy, since the OLED, LCD and X Plus variants share the same SMBIOS identity and the generic list can’t tell them apart. The kernel itself needs no change: Omarchy installs linux-omarchy on every aarch64 machine, and it already carries the Surface Pro 11 patches.
Three packages come along for the ride:
surface-pro-11-supportfor Wi-Fi board data, audio and camera routingiptsdfor the pen and touchsurface-pro-11-sensorsfor the ambient light sensor, with its service enabled
All three are listed in the offline package list, so the offline ISO carries them and you don’t need a network connection to get a working tablet.
The test plan is reassuring. @turbineBMW did a fresh install from an aarch64 ISO built from the branch, in free space next to Windows, and reports that the Flex Keyboard works during install and at login, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, the speakers, the microphone, both cameras, pen and touch, the ambient light sensor, the charger state, and lid-close suspend to deep sleep and wake.
More Surface hardware may follow. An open pull request #16968 from @jdvmi00 sets up the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop 8 with the Snapdragon X2 Elite the same way. It waits on a new package in omarchy-pkgs and on another Omarchy pull request, #16940, which the laptop needs to get to disk unlock.
