The next Omarchy takes screenshots with Super + Shift + S
No Print Screen key on your laptop or keyboard? Omarchy is adding the screenshot chord Windows users already know, and Google Maps moves over to make room.

Good news for anyone who has hunted for a Print Screen key that isn’t there: Super + Shift + S now takes a screenshot in Omarchy. The pull request “Take a screenshot with Super + Shift + S”, opened by @TripleU613 on August 28, 2026, was merged into the quattro branch by Ryan Hughes on October 16, 2026. It’s coming in the next version.
The reasoning in the PR is simple. PRINT “is awkward or absent on a lot of hardware”: most laptops hide it behind a function layer, and Apple keyboards, Logitech MX Keys and plenty of compact keyboards have no Print Screen key at all. Super + Shift + S is, in the PR’s words, “the chord Windows users already have in their fingers”. And since Linux treats the Command key as Super, it lands on Cmd + Shift + S on a Mac keyboard.
Nothing changes for people who like the old way. PRINT “stays exactly as it is”, and both keys run the same omarchy-capture-screenshot command, so you get the same Omasnap overlay with region, window, full-monitor and scrolling captures. The other capture shortcuts (Alt + Print Screen to record, Super + Print Screen for the colour picker) aren’t touched. If you have no Print Screen key, the manual points to Super + Ctrl + C, which opens the whole capture menu.
There’s one casualty. Google Maps used to live on Super + Shift + S, so the web app moves one modifier over to Super + Shift + Alt + S, “alongside the other secondary web apps” like Grok, Browser (private) and X Post.
The manual is updated to match, with changes to the hotkeys, screenshots and recording, and web apps chapters. The “Coming From Mac or Windows” translation table now maps both Cmd + Shift + 4 and Win + Shift + S to Super + Shift + S or Print Screen.
About your own config: according to the PR, existing user configs aren’t migrated. The new binding lives in Omarchy’s default binding files, which the package replaces on update, so it shows up after you update. The PR also removes the commented-out Super + Shift + S example from the config/hypr/bindings.lua template. If you had already bound that chord to something yourself, check your own bindings after the update.
