Omi: Taha gives the Omarchy logo eyes, and DHH names the new mascot
A short clip of the Omarchy logo with a pair of eyes turned into a mascot overnight, after DHH quoted it with a name: Omi.
The Omarchy logo has picked up a face. On October 1, 2026, Taha, who posts as @tahayvr, shared a short video of the logo with a pair of eyes added, and a simple observation: “realized today that if you add eyes to the Omarchy logo you get a mascot. It’s alive!”
A few hours later, DHH quoted the clip with a one-line reaction that gave the character its name: “Love this Omi character!!”
Both posts drew attention. At the time of writing, Taha’s original had about 73,000 views and 495 likes, while DHH’s quote post had passed 1,400 likes.
For now, Omi is community fun rather than official branding. Neither post announces a redesign, a new logo or a change in Omarchy itself, and there is no release tied to it.
Still, the name comes from Omarchy’s creator himself, so Omi may well show up again in wallpapers, themes and community art.
The clip is worth the few seconds it takes to watch, if only to see the logo come alive.
