Omarchy adds Kimi Code as a default coding agent, with its quotas in the agents panel
Moonshot AI’s Kimi Code joins Omarchy’s default agent picker, and the agents panel will show its session, weekly and monthly limits.

Kimi Code is coming to Omarchy as a selectable default coding agent. Pull request #7261, opened by @sorenmat on August 17, 2026, was merged by DHH on October 14, 2026, so it’s coming in the next version.
Picking it is a one-liner: run omarchy default agent kimi (kimi-code works too), or go through Setup > Defaults > Agent in the Omarchy menu.
According to the PR, Omarchy installs the official npm package @moonshot-ai/kimi-code through mise. Interactive sessions launch with kimi --yolo, while initial prompts go through Kimi’s non-interactive --prompt mode.
The PR also takes care of people who already have Kimi. A migration only sets up a lazy launcher when the kimi command is missing and respects the preinstall opt-out, and removing preinstalls deletes only Omarchy’s wrapper, leaving a Kimi command you installed yourself alone.
A companion change, pull request #7274, also merged by DHH on October 14, 2026, brings Kimi into the agents panel. Its new omarchy-agent-usage-kimi collector reports your session, weekly and monthly quotas.
Privacy-wise, the record holds account limits only, with no local token or prompt statistics. The collector authenticates with KIMI_API_KEY if it’s set, and otherwise reads the sign-in saved under ~/.kimi-code.
If a probe fails, the panel keeps the last measured limits with their original timestamp and marks them as stale, so you still see where you stand instead of an empty meter.
