Omarchy.org’s language sites could soon wear their national flags
An open pull request on the omarchy.org repository would give every flag-marked language site its own theme drawn from that flag’s official colours, while omarchy.org itself keeps the stock themes.
Omarchy.org’s language sites may soon look a little more local. Pull request #515 on the omacom/omarchy-site repository, opened by barisgirismen on October 4, 2026, adds “national themes, drawn from each language site’s flag.”
According to the PR description, every site in the language menu except omarchy.org shows a flag. With the change, each one would open in a theme based on that flag and list it first in the theme picker. Omarchy.org keeps the stock themes, and anyone who has already picked a theme keeps theirs.
Each flag is described once, with its official colours and what each colour is used for. A build script then generates the CSS, so nobody has to hand-edit 36 theme blocks, and a test fails if the two drift apart.
The main buttons use the flag’s colours exactly. Text is only adjusted where the exact colour would be hard to read, and tests check every theme against contrast minimums. The Omarchy wordmark also takes on the flag, with its stripes, a cross, a hoist or the emblem’s colour.
Social cards keep the stock themes, and a new fallback token means the existing themes look exactly the same. The author calls this a first version and plans to refine the designs in follow-up pull requests. Anyone curious can try one locally with PUBLIC_SITE_LOCALE=tr npm run dev.
The PR was still open and unmerged at the time of writing, so the national themes are not live yet and the final design may change.
