Omarchy users in China have a date with DHH. The Omarchy Shenzhen Meetup with DHH takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM local time, which is 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Central Europe.

The event is community-run. It is hosted on Luma by YourChinaGuy and OpenClaw Asia and listed on the official Omarchy meetups page. The event page says DHH has confirmed he will attend.

The evening has two parts. From 4:00 to 6:00 PM, an install party in Hailiao Hall invites people to bring a laptop and charger and get Omarchy running with help from community volunteers. From 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the meetup with DHH moves to Minghua Hall on the 3rd floor, with a talk, a fireside chat and community lightning demos. The organizers say the detailed agenda will be announced later.

It takes place at the ADEN Hotel Shenzhen Nanshan, No. 8 Guishan Road, Shekou, Nanshan District. That is also the venue of the GOSIM conference, and the organizers say GOSIM attendees are welcome to join the install party.

Attendance is free, but you have to register and be approved. At the time of writing, 169 people had registered. The organizers recommend backing up your data first and, since Omarchy is still at an early stage, installing on an older or spare laptop.

They are also looking for volunteers who know Linux or Omarchy well enough to help newcomers through the install, and they’re promising a surprise perk for those who sign up.
