Shenzhen went big for Omarchy. The community meetup with DHH on Saturday, October 17, 2026 drew more than 500 sign-ups and a “completely packed room”, according to organizer YourChinaGuy, who called it “the largest @omarchy meetup in the world.”

The numbers climbed fast. When we announced the event, 169 people had registered on Luma. On October 16, the day before, DHH posted that “over 400 people” were coming. By the end, the organizer counted 500+ sign-ups. That is a registration figure: no official count of how many actually walked through the door has been shared.

The program paired an install party, where community volunteers were on hand to help newcomers get Omarchy running on their laptops, with a meetup featuring DHH. It took place at the venue of the GOSIM conference, and DHH described it on X as the “GOSIM/Omarchy Shenzhen event”, saying he loved “meeting so many Chinese Omarchy fans and users” (post).

Yunjie Dai (@xdanger) was in the room too. “Crazy, 500 people meetup. @dhh is like a rock star,” he wrote, along with a photo of the crowd.

The morning after, DHH looked back on it: “The energy was electric last night. A meetup the size of a conference!” (post).

In his recap, YourChinaGuy thanked DHH, Yunjie Dai and the partners who supported the event, and gave a shout-out to @brutoshi_ and OpenClaw Asia, which co-hosted the meetup. Not bad for a community-run evening that had 169 registrations a week earlier.
