OmarchyTV puts an Omarchy-style home screen on Android TV, with themes pushed from your PC
Hyprland-style workspaces, all 23 Omarchy themes and a TerminalTextEffects screensaver on your TV, plus a PC plugin for theme sync, screen sharing and remote control. It’s an early beta, tested on one real TV so far.

Your TV can rice too now. Marco Porro announced OmarchyTV on X on October 22, 2026: “An #Omarchy style launcher for Android TV: themes, Waybar style bar, live stats and a terminal-style screensaver.” It ships with an omarchy-tv plugin “so your Omarchy PC can push themes and share its screen to the TV.” The project lives on GitLab for now, because, as Marco put it, his GitHub account “is still stuck in review.”
The first public build, 2.10.1-beta, went up the same day, followed that evening by 2.10.2-beta. It’s MIT-licensed, built on tv-vibehack by Gathin, and the README is clear that it’s an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Omarchy project.
On the TV, the launcher borrows the whole Omarchy look: Hyprland-style windows, a Waybar-style top bar, Walker-style menus and the CaskaydiaMono font. There are five workspaces like in Hyprland (home, TV, apps, PC and system), switched with the number keys or the bar. You get all 23 Omarchy themes with their wordmark backgrounds, your own images, and panels for the clock, weather, PC stats, a terminal and more that you can place on a grid with the remote. The screensaver runs the 37 effects of tte.js and TerminalTextEffects, and it can also act as the system screensaver.
The PC side is a pair of tools, omarchy-tv and omarchy-link. You pair with a 6-digit code shown on the TV (SPAKE2), and the link stays on your local network. From there, your active Omarchy theme follows you to the TV, omarchy-tv themes push sends your custom themes and backgrounds, and you can stream your desktop to the TV as a low-latency H.264 stream through gpu-screen-recorder or wf-recorder. The plugin also works as a remote (Home, Back, media keys, launching apps) and can update the APK over adb with omarchy-tv update, which refuses any APK with a different certificate or a lower version.
The project is careful about not wrecking your TV. Every feature is off by default except the animated Omarchy logo, and cast to TV is opt-in. The debloat helper only uses pm disable-user and never uninstalls anything or touches DNS, and a one-press “Originale” switch takes you back to the stock launcher.
Installing it means turning on developer options and network debugging on the TV, then running adb connect <tv-ip>:5555 and adb install -r omarchytv-release-2.10.2.apk before picking OmarchyTV as the home app. The PC plugin is an optional extra download from the same release.
Keep your expectations in check, though. The README warns in capitals that this is beta software where “things may not work.” So far it has been tested on one real TV, a 2017 Sony KD-55XE9005, where version 2.9 is installed and working and 2.10.1 is still waiting for a real-TV test, plus the Android TV emulator. Marco is asking owners to report how it runs on their sets with a “TV report” issue template.
The 2.10.2 update is all about the wallpaper: “Liftoff Sunset” by Tom Ballard, from his Tokyo Liftoff Omarchy theme, is now the default Tokyo Night background, included with his permission granted on X on October 22, 2026.
