Signed replaces Xournal++ as Omarchy’s PDF signing app
Omacom’s new app lets you drop a signature, text or today’s date on a PDF and save a signed copy, and it becomes the default in the next Omarchy version.

Omarchy is swapping Xournal++ for a new app called Signed to sign PDFs. The official @omarchy account announced it on X on October 13, 2026, calling Xournal++ “cumbersome” and saying Signed “will be default in the next version.”
Signed is Omacom’s own open source app, published on GitHub under the MIT license at omacom/signed. Its README says it is modeled on the signing tools in Apple’s Preview, “and nothing more.” On Omarchy, its interface follows your theme’s accent color.
The workflow is simple. You open a PDF, place your saved signature, a text box or today’s date with a key press (S, T or D), drag and scale them, then save a signed copy next to the original. The original file is never changed, and the signed copy keeps the original pages as they were, so text stays selectable.
To add a signature, you give Signed a scan or a photo of your signature on white paper. It removes the paper, keeps the ink and crops to it. Signed also has command-line commands that need no display, so a script or an AI agent can sign a PDF with your saved signatures.
The switch landed in pull request #14999, merged on October 11 into the quattro branch. A migration installs Signed on existing machines unless you removed the preinstalls, and Xournal++ is not removed on machines that already have it.
