Try Omarchy for Windows 0.8 opens the desktop when it is ready, and adds Korean
The October 2 release waits until the Omarchy desktop is up before showing its window, pauses the guest while Windows sleeps, and moves the bundled Omarchy to 4.0.4.
Try Omarchy for Windows v0.8.0 landed on October 2, 2026, tagged by the repository’s GitHub Actions bot. The release notes say the update makes starting Omarchy smoother and adds Korean.
Two behaviour changes are called out for the window itself. Omarchy’s window now opens once the desktop is ready, in the place you left it, instead of appearing before the guest is actually up. And Omarchy pauses while Windows sleeps, so it picks up where it left off rather than running through a host sleep. The launcher is available in Korean, credited to seunghan91.
Inside the guest, Omarchy moves to 4.0.4. The notes say to run Update, then Omarchy, to get that version. Smaller fixes are mentioned for Settings, the clipboard, and the importer, without a line-by-line changelog in the release text.
The release assets are the usual Try Omarchy set: TryOmarchy.exe, the compressed rootfs, initramfs and vmlinuz, the winq emulator zip, checksums, and the import scripts. The notes point readers at the download for Try Omarchy for Windows from that release page. This is the Windows trial app in omacom/try-omarchy-windows, not a new ISO of the distro itself. The distro version named inside the guest is 4.0.4, which is the current Omarchy release the guest is being updated to, not a newer one.
