Omastrator 0.2.3: a design app for Omarchy where you and your coding agent share one canvas

Designer Sean Ireton has released version 0.2.3 of Omastrator, a free beta design app with frames, layers, pen and auto layout. It connects to the agent Omarchy already has set up, with no login or MCP setup.

Sean Ireton, a UX and UI designer, announced Omastrator 0.2.3 on X on October 11, 2026. He describes it as “a design app for Omarchy, made for designers who work with agents.”

The tools are the ones designers know: frames, layers, a pen tool and auto layout. The difference is that your coding agent works on the same canvas. Ireton says he built it because AI design work has too many steps: add an MCP server, edit a config, restart, switch apps, then copy the result back. And as much as he loves Figma, he finds its AI “bolted-on as an afterthought.”

Because Omarchy already has your agents set up, Omastrator connects to them with no login or auth. According to the project page, it works with Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Gemini CLI, and every change the agent makes is a proposal you keep or drop.

Ireton lists three highlights. Your agent drafts variations as real frames with auto layout, not images, so you can edit them with the same tools. Live websites can sit inside frames, where you can click, scroll and resize them while the site reflows. And pages show up in the Omarchy bar, each opening in its own workspace.

New in 0.2.3: each canvas window has its own tools, new projects open on a blank canvas, the agent can create frames and add auto layout, page windows switch pages on their own, and panels and toolbars behave better in tiled windows.

Omastrator runs on Omarchy or Arch Linux, on x86_64 and aarch64. It installs with a one-line script linked from the project page. It is an early, free beta, and Ireton says he is looking for testers and feedback.
