A new community theme takes Omarchy back to the workstations of the late 1990s. The SGI Irix theme by rlimberger is a light Indigo Magic theme in the colours of an SGI IRIX desktop from the O2 years.

It was proposed for the Omarchy themes page in pull request #533 on omacom/omarchy-site, opened on October 7, 2026. The PR is still open, so the theme is not listed on omarchy.org yet, but it can already be installed from its repository.

According to the README, the palette is Motif-style grey chrome (#D5D5D3) on the IRIX desk, with the blue of the IRIX Icon Catalog used as the selection colour. Icons use the Yaru-blue set.

Two backgrounds come with it: the 1999 sgi wordmark on the desk blue (#4C719E), and the same wordmark on the purple of the O2+ case (#52447C). You can switch between them with omarchy theme bg next.

To install it, run omarchy theme install https://github.com/rlimberger/omarchy-sgi-irix-theme, or paste the same URL in the Omarchy menu under Install > Style > Theme. It shows up in the theme menu as Sgi Irix.

The README is careful about artwork. The wordmark comes from Wikimedia Commons, and the theme states it is not affiliated with Silicon Graphics or HPE. The classic IRIX pattern tiles and cube logos were left out because their licensing is unclear.
