Omarchy 4.5 Quattro RS is out with a Mac installer, desktop mode and 50 languages
The first big feature release since Quattro brings native installs on M1, M2, M3 and Neo MacBooks, a floating desktop with a dock, and much faster installs. Here’s what’s new and how to update.

It’s here. Omarchy 4.5, nicknamed Quattro RS, was released overnight into November 5, 2026. According to the GitHub release, it’s the first big feature release since Quattro, with “over 740 pull requests merged from more than 180 contributors in just twelve weeks.” DHH’s release notes on omarchy.org go through all of it, and there’s a lot.
The biggest change on the desktop is floating workspaces. Super + L now cycles between tiling, scrolling and floating layouts. In floating mode, every window gets a titlebar in your theme’s colors, and a dock shows pinned apps, running apps and a grid of everything installed. Tiling stays the default, but Omarchy now offers a traditional desktop mode for anyone who wants one.
Mac owners get a native installer for M1, M2, M3 and Neo MacBooks. “No USB stick, no terminal incantations,” as the release notes put it. Support for M4, M5 and M6 is still in progress. There’s also a first ARM ISO with preliminary support for NVIDIA DGX Spark and N1X laptops, and Snapdragon support is on the way.
Omarchy now speaks 50 languages and sets up five input methods: Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Taiwan (Zhuyin) and Hong Kong (Cangjie). The agents panel now tracks 23 agents and providers, up from 6, with Grok as a full provider and support for multiple accounts per provider.
Installs got a lot faster too. The new installer unpacks a prebuilt root image and adds just the packages that machine needs on top, which the release notes say cuts install times roughly in half on any machine. AMD’s Anush Elangovan posted a 7-second install on November 1, 2026 using RC2 on his laptop, and the release notes call it a world record.
The rest of the list is long:
- New default apps: Hype, Signed, Disktree, Monologue, Gliff and the Elsewhen world clock.
- Microsoft 365 web apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive) under Install > Service.
- Superwhisper as the default dictation engine, with a free local model option.
- Sign-in support for captive portals on hotel and airport Wi-Fi.
- Notifications that stack by sender, match your theme and collapse identical repeats.
- Video backgrounds, plus short, silent theme intros at login or when you switch themes.
- Jade Horse and Starship join the default themes.
- The Limine boot menu now waits one second instead of about six.
If you’re already on Omarchy, the release notes say to run Update > Omarchy. New users can follow the install instructions on omarchy.org. If you’ve been testing the release candidates, our RC3 overview covers the Apple Silicon installer in more detail.
And 4.6 is already being worked on. DHH said on X on November 5, 2026 that it is “already far along” and “won’t take as long to drop,” with the full Snapdragon lineup, better support for the NVIDIA N1x machines, out-of-the-box local AI and, “hopefully,” Omarchy Kids.
