Antigravity replaces Gemini CLI as Omarchy 4.5’s Google coding agent, and gemini still works
Google’s Antigravity CLI takes over the Gemini slot in Omarchy’s agent menu, and a migration moves Gemini users across without touching their Gemini config or credentials.

If Gemini was your coding agent on Omarchy, 4.5 has quietly moved you to its successor. The Omarchy 4.5 release notes, published by DHH on November 4, 2026, say that “Google’s Antigravity replaces the obsolete Gemini CLI”, with gemini still working as an alias.
The swap fixes a real breakage. In issue #6889, opened on August 14, 2026, a user reported that signing in to Gemini now fails with Google’s message: “This client is no longer supported for Gemini Code Assist for individuals. To continue using Gemini, please migrate to the Antigravity suite of products.”
The fix is pull request #6900 by Sanjay (@sanjyay), merged by DHH on August 20, 2026 into the quattro branch and now shipping in 4.5. Antigravity takes Gemini’s place in the default agent menu, and Omarchy installs and launches Google’s official agy CLI through mise.
When Omarchy launches it, Antigravity starts with --dangerously-skip-permissions, the same “don’t stop to ask” treatment the other agents get, and prompts sent from Omarchy go in through --prompt-interactive so the session stays open.
Old habits keep working. omarchy default agent gemini and omarchy default agent gemini-cli both select Antigravity, alongside agy, antigravity and antigravity-cli. Antigravity also shows up in the revamped agents panel, which according to the release notes now tracks 23 agents and providers.
Existing installs are handled by a migration, migrations/1786719479.sh. If your stored default agent is exactly gemini, it becomes agy, and Antigravity gets installed if it isn’t there yet. Any other default is left alone.
According to the PR, the migration does not uninstall Gemini or delete its configuration or credentials, and it is safe to run repeatedly. The one thing it cleans up is the gemini wrapper Omarchy itself wrote to ~/.local/bin, since nothing else would remove it anymore. A hand-written wrapper is left in place.
Omarchy’s default agent skills come along too: they are linked into ~/.gemini/config/skills, where Antigravity picks them up. For everything else in the release, see our rundown of Omarchy 4.5 Quattro RS.
