Omarchy 4.5’s new Appearance menu gathers theme, windows, dock and animations in one place
The old Style menu is gone: Omarchy 4.5 moves everything about how your desktop looks into a single top-level Appearance menu, with clearer toggle labels.

If you have spent the last few days in Omarchy 4.5 looking for the Style menu, here is why you can’t find it. DHH merged a pull request on October 20, 2026 that makes Appearance a top-level menu, placed right before Trigger, and folds the old Style menu into it.
The Omarchy 4.5 release notes describe it as gathering everything about how the desktop looks into one new Appearance menu that replaces Style. In the shipped menu, Appearance now reads: Theme, Background, Font, Menu Bar, Windows, Branding, Dock, Workspace Layout, Animations and Unlock.
Two new submenus keep things tidy. Windows groups Window Gaps, Window Corners, Window Opacity and 1-Window Ratio, which means the Opaque, Transparent and Glassy window choices and the theme, sharp or rounded corners now sit side by side. Branding takes over the Screensaver and About customization that used to live under Style, and gets the Omarchy logo as its icon.
The Dock entry is contextual: according to the pull request, Appearance > Dock only shows up on a floating workspace, since that is the only place the dock appears. The animations switch also lands at the top level of Appearance, and the release notes point there for anyone who wants to turn the new theme intros off.
The labels got a rethink too. Every toggle now names what picking it will do, with one row shown while a feature is off and another while it is on: Animations On / Animations Off, Notifications On / Silence Notifications, Show Battery % / Hide Battery % and so on. Hide Bar and Show Bar stay as they were.
According to the pull request, a few entries were dropped from the menu along the way. Style > Hyprland, which opened looknfeel.lua, is gone. So is Font > Chinese, Japanese, Korean, because language and input-method setup already pick the right glyph forms; the omarchy font cjk command stays. Herdr Theme Sync left the menu as well, while omarchy-toggle-theme-sync still works from the terminal.
Muscle memory is covered: omarchy menu summon style keeps working through an alias that points to Appearance. One thing to check if you customize the menu, though. The menu IDs now follow the new paths (appearance.*, appearance.windows.*, appearance.branding.*), and the pull request warns that anyone overriding the old IDs in ~/.config/omarchy/extensions/omarchy-menu.jsonc will need to switch to the new ones.
